1960 Convertible, Exterior: Monte Carlo Red, Interior: Red/White
Owner: Sky Silverton, Encinitas, California
You know...I can’t drive this car anywhere, without a public scene! What great fun to share this car with others---especially kids!
---Sky Silverton on his ’60 Squarebird
The CyberNests’ own Route-66 author has owned this 1960 Squarebird Convertible for about six years. It’s stock Monte Carlo red with stock red and white interior. The car has 70,100 (believed to be) original miles.
The engine was rebuilt by renown Jasper’s (Indiana) in 1995 and has about 300 miles on it. The engine also sports the correct and original optional engine dress up kit, with chromed air cleaner, valve covers and voltage regulator cover. In terms of restoration, Sky’s redone the interior fabric, done a front-end rebuild, added radial tires, and, as mentioned earlier, had the engine rebuilt. Otherwise, the car is totally stock and original.
Sky can often be sited driving up and down the Pacific Coast Highway in and around San Diego’s North County---the perfect climate for Ford’s near-perfect car!
